👩🏻‍🍳 Chef AI

Not sure what to cook for dinner tonight? Open your fridge, snap a photo, upload it to chatGPT and ask it to give you ideas. It might make some mistakes (it thought my tofu was feta) but I personally find that amusing. Obviously it cannot know how many eggs are left in that egg carton, but all in all it can save you a lot of time. You do realize how AI can make assumptions (like the egg carton being full), instead of asking clarifying questions. We will probably witness this improve over time.

🩱 Try this for size

Google launched an app you can use to try on looks, virtually. It helps you visualize how an outfit might look on you and try new styles easily. I already don't enjoy spending time in the stores, changing clothes in tiny, hot and noisy dressing rooms, so this is an upgrade to my current habits of shopping online. Doppl app is currently available in the U.S. You can also test this search feature, if available for your account.

Some Facebook users are now asked if they want their photos automatically AI-edited - including the ones that users haven't uploaded to Facebook yet. I can't even count the number of red flags in all this. Meta needs to repair their reputation around data sharing and this really isn't helping.

I like to imagine that AI is like the most educated and experienced intern in the world - you can pull any and all information or knowledge out of it but it works best with clear and detailed instructions. And there's nothing wrong with that! Here's how to write better prompts.

🧠 Déjà vu?

An AI company (ElevenLabs) best known for its ultra-realistic voice cloning just launched 11AI, a voice-powered assistant that listens, speaks, and helps with everyday tasks. Think: answering messages, making calls, summarizing articles. But why does their demo video looks so familiar ... ? Oh yes, it reminds me of Apple's ad for Siri back in 2011. That was 14 years ago. Let that sink in.
